Fall is a great time to be living in Charleston. The weather begins to cool and the oyster roasts kick into to full steam. Come October, Fridays through Sundays are overflowing with more than anyone can pack into a weekend. Food, football, fun and, yes…history.
If you're a history buff and want to explore Charleston's beautiful historic properties, October is a perfect time to be around The Battery. The Preservation Society of Charleston (PSoC, on Twitter @ThePSofC) will host the 38th Fall Tour of Homes from October 2-26, 2014. Tours will include historically significant real estate on the Charleston Peninsula, including several private homes. Learn the history of these showcase homes and see how they have been adapted for a 21st Century lifestyle. Tours also include Preservation museum properties.
And don't forget, pick up a copy of the Charleston City Paper to find a list of other weekend activities and pick your favorite oyster roast spot, live music venue, theater destination and more.
